RSS automation with Bizomate

Blogs, news sites, release notes and status pages publish an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) or Atom feed. Bizomate checks the feed and starts a workflow for each new entry — its title, link, author and summary ready for the next step — so the team hears about it where they already work. Every run leaves a record of which entry it was.

On every plan, Free included.

What can start a workflow

New feed item
When a new entry appears in an RSS or Atom feed

The first check only notes what is in the feed, so entries already there never start a run. After that, each entry not seen before starts one, oldest first, up to 100 in one check.

What a workflow can do with it

Read a feed
The entries of an RSS or Atom feed — the next steps run once for each

Each entry's title, link, published time, author, summary and content, and the address of any attached file, such as a podcast episode. 20 entries unless you change Most entries, up to 1,000, newest first.

Questions about RSS

Do I need an account anywhere?

No. RSS is built into Bizomate, on every plan. You need only the feed's address.

Will the entries already in the feed start runs?

No. The first check notes what is in the feed; only entries that appear after that start runs, oldest first.

How often is the feed checked?

Every 5 minutes on paid plans and every 15 on Free. A check that finds nothing starts no run and costs nothing.

Which feeds can it read?

RSS 2.0, RSS 1.0 and Atom feeds on the public internet. A feed on a private network cannot be read.
